About the Collection

This is a database of over 600 images of postcards depicting world amusement parks and seaside pleasure resorts from the collection of Kathy Day.

Kathy Day was a foundation member of the NSW Postcard Collectors’ Society. She commenced collecting postcards while studying graphic design in the early 1980s. She initially started with Luna Park as her sole theme, but her collection broadened over time to include amusement parks and seaside resorts around the world.

The collection includes postcards from Australia and around the world, and date from the beginning of the 1900s to 2000. Highlights of this collection are postcards depicting the various Luna Park’s around the world and here in Australia.
